Barnstorming! returns, bringing our collaborative concert series to live audiences for the first time, performing in barns across the UK. This time we team up with violist Francesca Gilbert and cellist Alexander Rolton for a programme of Strauss’ Capriccio and Mozart’s Grande Sestetto Concertante, an arrangement of his famous Sinfonia Concertante, continuing on a theme, commonplace in the 18th and early 19th centuries, of reducing orchestral works for smaller forces to be played with friends in the home, practically the equivalent of our CDs today!
