BAROQUE IN THE NORTH
Friends in High Places

A latecomer to the Early Music revival, the musette was only rediscovered in the 1960s. As a result, much of its extensive repertoire remains unrecorded (and even unheard). Building on our highly successful first album, 'Music for French Kings', our second album will explore previously-unrecorded chamber music composed for musette and the other instruments at the court of Versailles. Expect trio sonatas for musette and flute, duos for cello and musette, a sonata for virtuoso harpsichord and musette, and even some duos for two musettes! Photo credit - Paul Husband
